smart smarTians

Lockdown brought smarTians face to face with the unknown. The way operations have continued for over 100 days is a testimony to precise planning, continuous monitoring, and exemplary hard work and dedication towards work and the associated livelihood. Video conferencing has helped. The water cooler talks have been replaced with virtual settings. There have been numerous talk sessions and video conferences for the last three months. The calls have been both formal settings to discuss work and informal off work conversations. This has been a great way of conversing with people and knowing how they are doing in these heightened state of anxiety due to pandemic & offering help and support and solace in any way possible. Some of the continued efforts by the different group which requires mention are given below :-

Celebrating smartData’s 27th Founders’ Day 2025

smartData marked a major milestone on 1st February 2025. 27 years of growth, resilience, and continuous evolution. Celebrations were held across our three locations — Mohali, Nagpur, and Dehradun — bringing together teams, leadership, and the extended smartData family. It was a moment to pause, reflect on the journey so far, and look ahead with renewed focus and energy.

This day wasn’t just about numbers. It was about honouring the people who’ve shaped the company’s story — especially our founding leaders. We owe so much to Mr Ajay Tewari, Mr Vinay Tewari, Ms Archana Pandey, and Mr Madan Singh Negi, each of whom has completed 26 years of service. Their clarity of vision, long-term commitment, and belief in people have been at the heart of smartData’s progress. Their leadership continues to guide and inspire every smartian, and their dedication has helped build a culture that stands strong in an ever-evolving industry.

On 3rd February, the day came to life with warmth and enthusiasm across all offices. From sweet distribution and cake cutting to conversations that revisited key milestones, the spirit of celebration was everywhere. Employees came together not just to mark the occasion but to reconnect — with the company’s journey, with each other, and with the values that have brought us this far. Leadership also used the moment to share exciting announcements about the road ahead, outlining new goals, innovation plans, and opportunities for professional development. The message was clear — smartData is moving forward with intent, curiosity, and confidence.

Mr Ajay Tewari’s address struck a particularly strong chord. He acknowledged the contributions of every smartian and spoke about the importance of staying agile, purposeful, and committed to building meaningful impact. His words served as a reminder that while technology may be the space we operate in, it’s people, learning, and adaptability that will continue to define our journey.

As part of the Founders’ Day celebrations, a blood donation drive was also held under the CFG – Community Fitness Green initiative. The participation from employees across locations reflected our ongoing commitment to giving back and contributing beyond business. These initiatives, driven by care and responsibility, continue to reinforce the values we stand for — compassion, community, and collective growth.

As we move into another year, this milestone gives us a chance to celebrate not only what we’ve achieved, but the way we’ve done it — through resilience, through collaboration, and through a strong sense of shared purpose. With a solid foundation and a forward-looking mindset, smartData is ready for what’s next. The journey continues — and we carry with us the people, principles, and passion that have always set us apart.

New project at smartData: Improving sports recruitment

Finding and recruiting the right talent in sports can be a complex and time-consuming process. Athletes often struggle to connect with the right opportunities, while coaches and recruiters face challenges in identifying and evaluating talent efficiently. Without a structured system, many potential connections are missed.

To address this, smartData is developing a platform for a client that aims to simplify the sports recruitment process. The platform will provide a seamless way for athletes to showcase their skills and credentials while enabling recruiters to search, filter, and connect with potential talent more effectively. Features such as real-time updates, direct communication tools, and an improved search system will help streamline recruitment, making it more accessible and efficient.

As the sports industry continues to evolve, technology-driven solutions like this play a key role in improving processes and ensuring better outcomes for all stakeholders. Stay tuned for more updates on this project as it progresses.

A Flavourful Start to 2025: Golgappas, Gratitude and Good Vibes

January often brings with it a sense of reset. It’s about new goals, fresh energy, and a reason to come together. At smartData, we kicked off the year with exactly that spirit during our Golgappa Gettogether & Happy Moment Celebration at the Mohali office. It was a celebration of people, memories, and the small moments that add so much colour to our work lives.

The idea was simple: take a pause, celebrate milestones, and make space for fun. And the vibe? Completely electric. From the moment the event began, the energy in the room was contagious. There was laughter, chatter, and that familiar sense of belonging that reminds us why workplace culture matters so much.

As we looked back at the month, we took time to celebrate everyone who made January special: birthdays, work anniversaries, wedding milestones, and all the new faces who joined us recently. It was heartwarming to see how each moment, big or small, had its own spotlight. These recognitions brought us together, not just as coworkers, but as a close-knit community that grows and evolves together.

And then came the part everyone had been waiting for. The legendary Golgappa Station. Crisp puris, a line-up of flavoured water, spicy fillings, and the kind of excitement only a friendly food competition can create. Teams rallied around each other in mock battles of who could handle the most heat, the most crunch, or the most chaos. It was fun, fast-paced, and full of flavour — in every sense. That mix of banter, cheers, and unexpected spice made it an experience no one wanted to miss.

What added even more warmth to the day was the continuation of the Lohri spirit. smarTians who had previously brought in festive treats did so again, keeping the energy festive and generous. It was one of those days where tradition, laughter, and connection blended perfectly — nothing too over-the-top, just real people enjoying real moments.

The best part? It felt completely effortless. Nothing forced, nothing overly planned. Just a group of people showing up, sharing food, sharing stories, and stepping into the new year with joy. These are the moments that quietly shape our culture — not the big speeches or formal meetings, but the spontaneous, shared laughter around a table of golgappas.

More than anything, this celebration set the tone for the year ahead. One of energy, togetherness, and intention. Because, we know that success comes from how we build it, who we build it with, and how we celebrate the journey along the way.

Here’s to more such days, light, flavourful, and full of meaning.

Celebrating Republic Day with Purpose

The 76th Republic Day at smartData Enterprises was marked by an energising Walkathon that brought smarTians together in the spirit of unity, wellness, and national pride. Held across our three locations, Mohali (Head Office), Nagpur, and Dehradun, the Walkathon wasn’t just another event on the calendar. It became an experience that reflected our values, our culture, and our shared commitment to health and community.

As the day began and the sun rose, participants from each location gathered with a shared sense of purpose. In Mohali, the walk took teams through lush green paths, where nature’s calm added a refreshing energy to every step. Nagpur’s streets came alive with enthusiasm, filled with conversation and a visible sense of patriotic pride. Meanwhile, in Dehradun, the scenic beauty of the hills and valleys provided a stunning backdrop that inspired every participant to keep moving forward.

But this Walkathon was more than a morning stroll. It was a moment of connection. Every step taken was symbolic of the journey we’re on together, not just as colleagues, but as a team that grows, learns, and pushes forward as one. Conversations flowed freely, laughter echoed in between, and a strong sense of camaraderie made the entire experience feel deeply meaningful.

What stood out most was the energy. It was the joy of being part of something larger. The Walkathon captured the spirit of smartData perfectly: forward-looking, community-driven, and grounded in wellness. It reminded us that while we work hard, we also make space to take care of ourselves and one another.

As we celebrated 76 years of India’s independence, we also reflected on our own journey as an organisation. Every milestone we’ve reached, every challenge we’ve overcome — it all stems from the same values that guided the Walkathon: unity, resilience, and shared purpose.

Events like this reinforce who we are. They highlight the importance of staying connected, not just to our goals, but to the people we work with every day. And as we move ahead, it’s this spirit of togetherness that will continue to drive us forward.

At smartData, every small step counts. The Republic Day Walkathon was a beautiful reminder that growth happens gradually — and that walking forward together is how we create a stronger, healthier, more connected future.

smartData’s Republic Day & Cultural Celebration

Republic Day 2025 at smartData was more than just a date on the calendar. Across Mohali, Nagpur, and Dehradun, smarTians came together to mark the 76th Republic Day with pride, warmth and genuine enthusiasm. The entire day reflected the values we hold close. Unity, progress, and shared purpose.

The morning began with a Walkathon that set the tone for everything that followed. Colleagues stepped out wearing the colours of the flag, bringing energy and purpose to the day. It was about moving together, reflecting on the journey we’ve made, and feeling part of something larger. Each step felt meaningful, whether walking alongside familiar faces or striking up conversations with someone new.

Later, the focus shifted to celebration and creativity, as teams across all locations came together for cultural performances. From traditional dances to patriotic songs, the energy was contagious. The performances reminded us of the diversity within smartData: different backgrounds, different stories, all contributing to one shared culture. The smiles, the cheers, the quiet moments of appreciation, it all came together to create something truly memorable.

One of the most powerful parts of the day was the flag hoisting ceremony. As the flag was raised and the anthem played, there was a real sense of stillness and connection. Everyone stood together — proud, reflective, and aware of the meaning behind the moment. It was a reminder of how far we’ve come as a country, and of the role we each play in shaping our shared future.

Throughout the day, there was a sense of ease and connection that’s hard to plan for. You know the kind that grows when people feel proud of where they work and who they work with? From casual conversations to shared laughter, the spirit of the day wasn’t just patriotic. It was personal.

At smartData, days like this are a reminder of why culture matters. It’s about building something that lasts — not just in projects and goals, but in the relationships we nurture and the energy we bring to each other. Republic Day gave us a moment to pause, connect, and celebrate who we are — as individuals, as teams, and as a company moving forward, together.

smarTians Shine in TCS Fit for Life Walkathon

At smartData, we’ve always believed that staying active isn’t just good for the body — it does wonders for the mind and overall well-being too. That’s why the recent participation of our team in the TCS Fit for Life Walkathon felt like more than just a fitness event. It was a reflection of our ongoing commitment to health, energy, and community.

smarTians came together to take on both the 5km and 10km challenges with enthusiasm and drive. Whether they were experienced walkers or just getting started, what stood out was the shared determination and the sense of fun that carried everyone through the miles.

The Walkathon wasn’t just about crossing a distance. It was about encouraging one another, showing up as a team, and turning a personal goal into a collective win. There were moments of focus, plenty of laughs, and that feeling of satisfaction that comes from finishing something meaningful.

We’re proud of everyone who participated. Their effort speaks to the culture we’re building: one where health and balance matter, and where support and teamwork go hand in hand with personal growth.

Here’s to keeping that spirit alive, and to finding more opportunities that bring us together in movement and motivation. At the end of the day, at smartData, fitness is a part of how we show up for ourselves and for each other.

smartData at the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2025

The morning of 19 January 2025 was full of energy, excitement, and quiet determination as the Tata Mumbai Marathon brought together runners from all walks of life. Among them were four proud smarTians, representing smartData Enterprises with purpose, grit, and a deep belief in the values we stand for.

Leading the charge was our MD & Global CEO, Mr Ajay Tewari, whose enthusiasm and drive continue to set the tone for the entire organisation. Alongside him, Vivek Sharma, Mohinder Singh, and Shashi Bhushan took on the full 42-kilometre challenge — a powerful display of stamina, teamwork, and resilience. Navigating the unpredictable Mumbai weather and the intensity of the route, each of them showed what it means to stay focused, push through, and finish strong.

But for us, this marathon reflected something bigger — our ongoing commitment to community, fitness, and green living. These values aren’t just a tagline at smartData. They show up in how we work, how we lead, and how we show up for ourselves and each other.

This was the third year smartData took part in the Tata Mumbai Marathon, and each time it’s served as a reminder of the balance we strive for, the one between personal well-being and professional growth. The marathon brought that balance to life. It showed how physical endurance, mental focus, and a shared vision can come together to create something truly meaningful.

We’re proud of our team, not just for the kilometres they covered, but for the mindset they brought with them. Their presence on that track, alongside thousands of others, was a reminder that every effort counts, and that progress — in health, in work, in life — is built one step at a time.

As we look back on this achievement, we hope it inspires all of us to keep moving forward — to take on challenges, stay active, and continue living with purpose. The finish line in Mumbai wasn’t the end of anything. It was the start of more. More goals. More grit. And more moments that remind us why we do what we do.

Here’s to the team, the journey, and to many more milestones ahead.
